Going above and beyond for our clients

We are constantly proud of our TerraBlu team for going above and beyond for their clients. The kindness they give to each one of their clients is a delight to watch, so we thought we would share a story that particularly touched our hearts this week. Carol requested the support of TerraBlu last year and had a particular wish that was able to become a reality this summer, with the help of her carer, Gina.

A solution to travelling alone for a day trip to the coast

The opportunity for having a day out at the coast was an event that Carol, an elderly resident of Tunbridge Wells, never thought would be possible. Carol has plenty of friends locally but often finds getting out of town a struggle; with a fear of public transport and no family close by it has proven difficult to enjoy activities she once did regularly. Carol used to love travelling to the coast where her family resided for a couple of years when she was working as a nurse.

The support of domiciliary care

Until last year, Carol had not considered using the services of a local domiciliary care provider but sadly following a bereavement Carol decided that she needed extra help and support. Since using TerraBlu, Carol has struck up a much-valued friendship with her carer, Gina, who is a very experienced member of the team. Gina, reflected on Carols needs and decided to arrange a day trip to Hastings, driving Carol to enjoy a promenade walk browsing the charity shops, a sea view lunch and an essential ice cream on the seafront!

“The trip to Hastings was very special for me. Since my husband died, getting out of the house has been difficult for me. I used to live in Hastings before I moved to Pembury so the day was filled with memories and I even got to see where my grandchild is going to college. I am very grateful for my friendship with Gina and can’t thank the TerraBlu staff enough for helping and supporting me. It was great to have some company while walking along the seafront. A day trip to Eastbourne is next on my list!” Says client Carol.

Our carers can really make the difference

“Providing excursions such as this so our clients based in Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and the surrounding areas can enjoy their favourite activities and visit the places they love is one of the many services that our team of committed carers provides. They help to ensure our elderly clients enjoy the best possible quality of life while living independently in their own homes,” explained Netta Sceal, Deputy Care Manager.

We are so glad that we were able to give Carol a day out to the seaside and can’t wait to hear more stories about what our wonderful carers and clients get up to.
