We are so lucky to have such a wonderful and hardworking team here at TerraBlu but this week we wanted to shine the spotlight on one of our longest-serving and much-valued members of the TerraBlu team… Emma Foard! Emma recently celebrated 15 years of working with us, so we thought it was the perfect time for you to get to know her a bit more!
Getting to know Emma
Emma loves to go to festivals in her vintage VW campervan – for her there is nothing better than wild camping, sitting around a campfire with a cider and watching the sun setting. She also enjoys cooking and makes quite the chocolate brownie! Her furry friend Storm is a big part of her life who is a very old rescue Weimaraner dog.
Throughout the years Emma has done various job roles from being a Special Police Constable, Girl Guide Leader and teaching adults with special needs.
“I have enjoyed all the jobs I have done in the past but there is nothing more satisfying than picking up the phone to a grateful next of kin; to hear them say that our Support Workers have done a great job and that they appreciate all the care that their loved one has received from us. TerraBlu is not just my employer but feels like my extended family. I have worked with Julia and Richard throughout some challenging times, and we always seem to find solutions together to make us stronger! Here’s to the next 15 years!”, says Emma Foard.
Emma’s areas of expertise
Emma joined us as Operations Manager 15 years ago and let’s just say her role involves a little bit of everything! From generating client invoices, to answering client queries, chasing up payments, ensuring staff are paid on time, fixing any IT problems, calculating holiday pay, organising client social events and keeping track of stock, she has quite the task on her hands! And it doesn’t end there… She helps to organise HR paperwork, order client shopping and still manages to take notes at staff meetings!
“Emma has spent her time fixing things, answering queries from clients and their families, ensuring staff are paid on time, mastering the complexity of calculating holiday pay for part-time workers, and smiling the whole way throughout. And, oh I forgot, answering any irritating queries I have on any subject! Emma, you are a pleasure to work with so thank you!”, says Richard Gould, Managing Director.
We are so grateful to have Emma on our TerraBlu team and watching her progress over the years has been a true pleasure. If you are considering a rewarding career in care, please get in touch or give us a call on 01892 529429
