Carers bring seasonal cheer as they go above and beyond this festive period

Every week we continue to be wowed by our team's ability to go above and beyond for our clients. Laura, Ellie and Julia were our superstars this week as they put big smiles on our client’s faces. We thought we would share these touching stories with you.

Snow doesn’t stop the TerraBlu staff!

During the unexpected and treacherous weather one of our clients, Diana, was stranded in the snow when no taxis were available to take her home from her regular visit to a local care home to watch films and join in with clubs. Fortunately, our carer Ellie came to her rescue and stepped in to escort Diana home. Although a cold and icy walk, Ellie made sure she got home safe and sound, something Diana never could have attempted alone as it was far too dangerous.

No cancelling plans this Christmas period!

A client of ours is visually impaired and therefore finds it difficult to travel to events alone and because of this has never been able to attend her Christmas lunch with friends. This year, carer Laura, made sure this wouldn’t be the case and accompanied her client there and back. This way she was able to enjoy the independence of attending her first Christmas lunch and spend quality time with friends. She was absolutely thrilled she got this opportunity and is very thankful that she has Laura by her side.

Bed shopping made fun for client Graham

One of our clients was in desperate need of a new bed, so Julia and Ellie decided to make it a fun trip out, with the added seasonal cheer of wearing Christmas jumpers! They helped Graham select the best bed for him, and then completed the trip with a lovely hot drink and a slice of carrot cake in Tunbridge Wells. The excursion was thoroughly enjoyed, and their mission was accomplished with lots of laughs along the way.

Giving you a helping hand this Christmas

December is a busy time of year when many clients look forward to meeting up with friends and family and attending community events. Some have mobility issues, or other medical conditions which can bring a level of anxiety and worry about going out when the nights draw in and the weather becomes colder.

That is when we come in! Our care staff can step in to make a difference and ensure they arrive safely to events and have help with vital shopping in the build up to Christmas

Richard Gould, Director at TerraBlu adds, “We are so pleased that our lovely clients can maintain a great quality of life and socialise throughout December, as our carers are willing to go above and beyond at times when our clients need them most. To us, they epitomise the essence of Christmas in their joyful spirit and can-do attitudes.”
