Care Academy

The second annual TerraBlu Care Academy was held at the Albir Playa Hotel in Altea, Spain in July 2009. The venue was a four star hotel on the beach with a Spa and Fitness Centre. Those invited on this all-expenses paid trip had worked for the company for a year or more.

The Care Academy is part reward/thank you and part professional and personal development. A number of workshops were held around wider social care issues, career development and customer service. Attendees at the Academy go on to work on various projects to benefit clients when they return home.

Managing Director, Richard Gould explained the reason behind the Academy, “We understand that to deliver the best care to our clients we need to attract and retain the best carers... "It’s been fantastic to be able to take people out of their familiar setting and see them embrace a new challenge and get really involved in developing new initiatives,” he continued.

The Care Academy was one of the main factors in TerraBlu winning the West Kent Business Award for Innovation in October 2009
