All staff receive a five day induction, covering issues of health and safety, moving and handling, policies and procedure. There is a rolling programme of external staff training and the company ensures all staff achieve basic mandatory skills training in addition to specialist courses.

The company places a strong emphasis on the welfare of its employees, with an understanding that care work can be physically demanding and emotionally draining. TerraBlu’s predominantly female staff often work alone and at night. Special lone worker training is provided.

Staff meet with their care co-ordinators and managers on a regular basis and there is a staff forum which encourages the airing of any views and concerns.
