Head Office Staff

Richard Gould, Managing Director

TerraBlu was founded by Richard Gould in 2002, when he discovered the lack of a high quality homecare service for children. Once established, the company was quickly deluged with requests for care services for adults and consequently broadened its offering.

Richard graduated from Durham University and RMA Sandhurst. He worked as a banker and financial consultant in financing infrastructure projects in developing countries prior to establishing TerraBlu.

“I have the privilege of working with some great people at TerraBlu,” says Richard. “They put themselves out for our clients every day, early in the morning and late at night. It's also hugely rewarding getting to know our clients, their likes and dislikes, their family members and realising the difference we can make in supporting their life at home.”

Richard can be contacted at Richard.Gould@terrablu.co.uk

Julia Mead, Care Manager

Julia joined TerraBlu in December 2006 from East Sussex Social Services, where she had been working as a Care Officer in Mount Deny’s Hospital, Hastings. She was promoted to Care Manager for TerraBlu in October 2007.

Prior to joining TerraBlu, Julia managed a nursery school.

Julia deals with all care related matters from initial assessments, planning care rounds, staff training, supervision and care quality assurance.

"No two days are the same," says Julia. "It’s probably the most challenging job I have had, and gives me a real buzz when we get it right for our clients."

She can be contacted directly at Julia.Mead@terrablu.co.uk

Emma Foard, Operations Manager

Emma joined the company in June 2007 from a local PR company where she had been the Office Manager. Prior to that, she had worked in various PA positions, having originally worked as a hairdresser. She has recently completed her Girl Guider training and is now a Unit Leader for a local Rainbows (apprentice Brownies).

Of her TerraBlu role, she says, "‘I have found a job that I enjoy and feel is very worthwhile. It’s interesting and sometimes challenging, but I know that I am part of a successful team that thrives on achieving positive outcomes."

Emma deals with all the administrative aspects of the business, ensuring that invoices go out on time, staff are paid, expenses settled and all the other tasks to keep things running smoothly. She can be contacted directly at Emma.Foard@terrablu.co.uk

Elaine Ralph, Office Administrator

Elaine joined TerraBlu in September 2006 from an orthodontics practice, where she had been Practice Manager.

Elaine is responsible for all day-to-day aspects of office administration from welcoming guests, listening to clients concerns and finding them the right person to talk to, processing new employees, spoiling Oscar – the office dog, and making sure the Care Co-ordinators stop for lunch!

"You never know what is going to happen day to day," says Elaine. "It’s always such a pleasure to talk to clients and to our brilliant team of carers and help them with any issues they may have."

Laura Cooper, Care Co-ordinator for Paddock Wood and Rural Villages

Laura has more than ten years experience in delivering personal care in residential and domiciliary settings. She started working at TerraBlu nearly four years ago as a Support Worker. She then served as a Senior Support Worker for Tonbridge before taking up her post as Care Coordinator in July 2008. Laura was awarded Carer of the Month in March 2007.

Laura is responsible for all matters relating to clients in her areas and for leading and managing her teams of Support Workers.

KIM MURRELL

With over seven years care experience in a mix of settings including residential care, Kim joined TerraBlu in June 2007, as part of the Pembury team. For the three years prior to joining TerraBlu she worked as a Healthcare Assistant on the Acute Medical Ward at a University Hospital. Kim was awarded Carer of the Month in January 2008 and promoted to Senior Carer for Pembury in the following month. She is currently acting Care Coordinator for Tunbridge Wells and Pembury.

"Moving up to Care Coordinating is the next step for me. I didn’t think I would enjoy the challenge as much as I do. When it all gets too much I just count to 10!" says Kim.
